| Wow. The history of this was incredibly stupid. I realize that this Ice Pirates, The Action movie was going to be a comedy genre. Yet, even without meaning is supposed to make at least a vague sort of sense. Water has become incredibly rare substance? Well, that's strange, considering that hydrogenated oxygen (or hydrogen oxide) is one of the most abundant substances that exist in the universe. And very easy to do. Glomp together atoms of hydrogen and oxygen together, and voilà, the water. Instead of water, the rarity of dilithium crystals or some of these Thingamajig should have been used as a screen as something to go after pirates. Water as the plot was silly, stupid, stupid. The "comedy" and contributed and worked seemed forced. The comedy in the TV series "Red Dwarf", was contributed and worked and forced, but it was really fun. Here, however, I felt like saying: "Ha, ha, that was so funny, I forgot to laugh ..." Sigh ... put all that money on sets, costumes, actors ... what a waste ... Rather than just whine and whimper and complain to his limp, my recommendations for improvement: 1) Use a credible plot. 2) Get rid of the "comedy." None of the players were very good at it. The Ice Pirates, The film would work better as a "serious" action adventure. The obvious intent of the writers was a spoofy comedy, but not quite pull it off. It is likely that I will not ever see this again. It's too much work a total hack. |
| Long ago in a galaxy far, far away (sounds familiar), the water has become the most valuable (this must sound familiar) and a small minority to control its distribution (which is a surprise, only a heart attack and die of surprise). A group of pirates ice (water renegades? Wet bandits ... ... Oh wait, that last one was used) are trying to discover the route to a legendary unlimited water but in a pretty bad condition (Druish ?) Princess in tow and a group of idiots ... er ... despicable villains in the search. This DivX film Ice Pirates, The has the potential to be a great comedy, parody ( "Star Wars" by David Lynch "Dune"), but not managed properly. Unable to believe that the term is "low-brow" humor. It does not really succeed in everything that is funny and it is a pity because it Angelica Houston, Ron Perlman and Robert Urich, (hence the three stars) are not exactly in the rest acting department. Definitely a rental and take a drink straight. |
| I saw this Ice Pirates, The Action film as a child and only saw him again. Some may think it is a sci-fi action DivX Movie Ice Pirates, The that hit well below the mark. Others see it as a comedy that hit almost dead on. I do not care ... It must be men, women, men kick a **, many aliens and space battles that make a budget look attractive, but work anyway. It's Lowdown, dirty, often vulgar, and succeeds in making almost all of the peloton in the butt of a joke at least. The only problem is, I can not remember any other DivX film Ice Pirates, The that made Ron Perlman to be small, weaselly kind. A score of more ice Pirates! |
| I love this movie, despite its cheesiness. It'sa lot of fun, with a large cast. Robert Urich made for a large space swashbuckler course, with tongue firmly planted in cheek. The DivX film Ice Pirates, The is full of great character actors and decent special effects. Some of the comedy is pretty lame and going south, where Bruce Villanch enters the picture, but it the end. The DVD movie Ice Pirates, The is a mixture of Star Wars, Errol Flynn, Monty Python / Mel Brooks, and the romantic comedy. It's a little ham-handed at times, but it's enough right elements to be entertaining. Robert Urich is welcome as lead and is equally good in the action and comedy. Mary Crosby made a credible love interest, but the crew of pirates are most interesting: Ron Perlman, Anjelica Houston, John and Michael D. Matusak Roberts. They make a great set and take some of the best scenes and lines. If you want a good old B-movie goofiness, you can not go wrong here. |
| Seriously though it is fun to see a little hokey. This is a great DivX film Ice Pirates, The when in the mood for a good giggle. The quality of the DVD film Ice Pirates, The is dated, but it's really quite good at the moment. There are a few plot points and some rough loose ends left untied but nothing serious enough to damage the entire film. Keeps you on your toes, and although it is clear that the end has some great twists in the road. Ice Pirates no little emotional spectrum but may be a little difficult to get worked up while the main character is the use of a frilly shirt tied to his waist. Anjelica Huston is great fun to watch and each of their costumes, I want to steal my own. There are many familiar faces, including one for another low-budget movie, Caveman (John Matuszak). |
| Ice Pirates is the funniest parody of science fiction, and one of the best comedies ever. There is no way that Galaxy Quest is even close. Spaceballs even have to take a back seat. Ice Pirates is the nitrous oxide Spaceballs. Of course, to appreciate what they have to have seen a lot of science fiction films, because they are what the Ice Pirates is getting into the fun. Fans of Red Dwarf are also advised to take a look at this DVD film Ice Pirates, The because it was obviously a source of inspiration for the show. |
| I found a very used copy in a yard sale and boy does it bring memories. It's fun, romantic, provocative, even sexy. Comedy is difficult and the actors in this DVD film Ice Pirates, The make it seem easy, and if your willing to put up with a ribbon worn, which is when you know it is good. Someday I hope to see it on DVD. |
